Federal College of Education (FCE), established in 1974, has a mandate to cater to the needs of qualified trained teachers of Islamabad Capital Territory and also to provide training to in-service teachers of Federal Directorate of Education throughout the country. The mandate was in line with the education policy of Government of Pakistan. The primary and fundamental objectives of Government of Pakistan’s education policies, from time to time, were to train and prepare education engineers and develop a trained qualified force of teachers for building prosperous Pakistan. College is doing its job since its inception by producing quality trained teachers by imparting pre-service and in-service trainings with new and improved methodology/techniques and teaching practicum to meet the challenges in education.

It is pertinent to mention here that FCE is the only teacher education college of Ministry of Education Islamabad. The college is located in Sector H-9 of Islamabad and situated in the midst of various organizations of ministry of education and reputed educational institutions e.g. Curriculum wing of Ministry of Education, Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, Allama Iqbal Open University, International Islamic University, National Vocational Training Institute, Federal Government Post-Graduate college and elementary teacher training college etc.

FCE as per its mandate is not only catering the needs of ICT teachers but is also providing in-service trainings to teachers of Federal Directorate of Education, Islamabad and other federal directorates of educations e.g. Cantt. & Garrison, PAF, FATA, FANA and AJKA etc.

Being the Federal Government teacher training college, FCE offers admission in its various teacher training programs from all over the country. Hence has a much diversified educational atmosphere without compromising the merit and standard of training. For all the post-graduate and degree programs college is affiliated with the Punjab University and for the diploma in education program with the federal board of intermediate and secondary education.

Since 1974, a large number of students have graduated from FCE. These students are serving various organizations at distinguished positions in Pakistan as well as overseas. However, it is lamentable that these graduates are completely detached from whatever is obtaining in FCE.

To address the issue, Director FCE and the faculty have decided to form an Alumni collaboration society meant to engage the former FCE students for participation in college activities for further growth and development of this teacher education institution in line with the goals set by national education policy. This may further strengthen national integration as FCE students come from various regions of Pakistan. Alumni will serve the following objectives

  • Social Development of the Students
  • Promotion of unity among students from different sub-cultures of Pakistan
  • Bridging the gap between society and the college.

The following committee is proposed to coordinate between FCE and alumni.
